Laser Cleaning at INEOS Technologies Electrode Coatings Plant

Advanced Laser Cleaning technicians have completed onsite coatings removal today at INEOS Technologies Electrode Coatings Plant, laser cleaning anode mesh surfaces (with coatings containing precious metals Ruthenium and Iridium of 2 micron thickness on a Grade 1 Titanium mesh substrate of 1mm thickness).

We were tasked with ablating the coatings off the mesh surfaces and extracting the fumes containing the precious metals including platinum. The filters from our Vodex extraction unit will be sent to a precious metals recovery specialist to incinerate and extract a higher yield than traditional forms of grit blasting.
